Republican State Representative Micky Hammon (Decatur) said in an interview with Florence Times-Daily that the complaints received about the new immigration law from revenue officials in Mobile and Baldwin Counties are a sign of laziness.
Hammon, sponsor of House Bill 56, said “there’s a lot of people that just want to complain.”
Chairman of the Alabama Democratic Party, Mark Kennedy, condemned Hammon’s comments and called on the representative to apologize.
