MONTGOMERY — Gov. Robert Bentley said Wednesday he will not push state lawmakers to approve a law establishing charter schools in Alabama.
Bentley made the comment in an interview where he confirmed that on Monday, in impromptu remarks to the summer convention meeting of the Alabama Association of School Boards, he said he would not include charter school legislation in his package of bills for lawmakers to consider when they return to Montgomery in the winter for the 2013 legislative session.
